    Description

This item is an antique vintage right handed 36 3/4" wood shaft iron. It is an early smooth face mashie style iron. Somewhat faintly marked H Rawlins Waumbeck. Rawlins was the unexpected winner of the first (1895) U S Open championship which was held at Newport Country Club. He was the pro at Waumbeck in NH 1899-03. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. The shaft has a bend, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in fair vintage condition. A must own collectible club as you don't see very many Rawlins marked clubs. Light for play.
Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 2 pound box. This item shipped Priority Mail. For those of you that never ship but only receive items, the further you are from me in NC the more shipping will be. That is the way the USPS charges. On top of that, eBay and takes almost 15% of what I receive for shipping (out of I receive .50) and I would like to break even. Shipping to foreign countries (CANADA, GREAT BRITAIN, AUSTRALIA AND SWEDEN) will be much higher and is also calculated.
